Singapore Select U19 Training Tour to Malaysia

Today, our Singapore Select U19 squad will be traveling up to Malaysia for a training tour. They will be playing the Malaysian U19 team at Sekolah Sukan Tunku Mahkota Ismail (SSTMI) Bandar Penawar on Saturday, tomorrow, with kickoff set at 2pm. The boys will then head back on the following day, Sunday. The purpose of this tour is to provide our boys with matchday experience as well as touring experience.

SRU Premiership Review – 25th November 17

The eagerly anticipated SRU Premiership League 17/18 began last Saturday with two matches to be played. Singapore Cricket Club played Bucks RFC at Dempsey Field, while Bedok Kings RFC were to play Wanderers RFC at Turf City. The latter match which due to poor weather conditions, had to be postponed. Regardless, we were still treated to a massively entertaining and exciting week of rugby thanks to the intense game of rugby served up between SCC and Bucks, the reigning champions.

Singapore’s promotion to Asia Rugby Championship Division 1 makes for an interesting 2017/18 Premiership Season

The National Mens Team’s performance in Taiwan last week has certainly stirred the emotions and hopes of the rugby community as the Republic climbs back to Division 1 in the Asia Rugby ecosystem. With that means a stronger challenge on fronts and the need for a stronger squad with the tournament slated to be held in the May 2018 Window. Consideration for the wider selection squad for 2018 is only applicable to players who play in the Premiership, and those aspiring for that jersey will have to contend with the 2017 team, making this season one to watch.
