26th April 2013, A total of 9 schools participated in the Standard Chartered Bank Under 13 TAG Rugby Carnival 2013 held at Yio Chu Kang Stadium. The Carnival started with an introduction to the Standard Chartered Bank development officers and also to the SCB staff that were present to volunteer at the carnival.


26th April 2013, A total of 9 schools participated in the Standard Chartered Bank Under 13 TAG Rugby Carnival 2013 held at Yio Chu Kang Stadium. The Carnival started with an introduction to the Standard Chartered Bank development officers and also to the SCB staff that were present to volunteer at the carnival.
During the carnival, each school were divided into teams of 5-6 to ensure all students will be able to Play and have Fun. With each game being played at 7 min, with many games to play, but also with sufficient rest time between each game. On the side for waiting teams, there were fringe activities with players challenging themselves to be able to throw a rugby ball accurately into a bin. Teachers present were also excited to see the game of Tag that they were at the side lines cheering their players.
Given the excellent weather, all games were completed, but most importantly all the kids had fun!
At the closing of the carnival, all students and teachers were gathered to the stands. And players were asked several questions about the names of the regional development officers and also certain rules of the game of TAG Rugby. Players with the correct answers were given a SCB Squish Rugby Ball as souvenirs.
At the end of the carnival, all schools were also given goodie bags consisting of SCB Squish Rugby Balls, SCB Lip Balms, SCB Sun Screens and a SCB Caps, which were packed before the carnival by the volunteered SCB staff.

Objective of the Carnival is to allow students from different schools to experience a tournament like event, and as a follow up to the Rugby Starter Programme. And most importantly to have fun!
Objective of the Rugby Starter Programme is for schools who are interested in exposing their students to rugby, and to introduce TAG rugby to their students. The programme is entirely free and no coaching fees are needed. The game of TAG rugby involves fundamental motor skills of running, passing and catching, and is modified as such there is no contact involved in this game, both female and male student can participate in this programme.
